Relaxation massage

The name says it all. If you want to relax, then this massage is for you. A relaxation massage calms the mind and removes tension from the body. The gentle, intentional touches are absorbed by the body, and in response, large amounts of feel-good hormones are released in your body, which positively influence not only your physiology, but also your mental and emotional processes. Are you ready to feel completely reborn?

The relaxation massage is basically a full body massage. I use warm almond oil during the massage, possibly in combination with essential oils. A composition of different essential oils of your choice is possible.

The relaxation massage, an underdog

There are so many types of massage these days that it can be hard to choose. Compared to other massages, the relaxation massage may seem simple. I think that's where its strength lies. I have found the relaxation massage a refuge, a space to rest, recover, and let go.

Stress

Stress has its uses. But if it goes undetected, it can skyrocket and cause a plethora of health-related problems. So, how do we notice our stress levels more?

We manage stress effectively by listening to our bodies, taking care of ourselves, and creating and maintaining a good balance between relaxation and exertion. Friedrich Nietzsche said, "There is more wisdom in your body than in your deepest philosophy."

Your body may be begging you to exercise more, take steps to sleep better, spend less time in front of screens, and more time with your family and outdoors. It may also ask you to receive a massage.

Touch

Touch is crucial for us humans. If we have a shortage of it, we speak of touch deprivation. Unfortunately, the reality is that today many in our society have a great need for healthy physical contact. People who do not have touch generally have more difficulty coping with stress.

During a relaxation massage, the body produces the hormone oxytocin. The glands also produce this hormone during a good hug. That is why oxytocin is also called the cuddle hormone. This hormone has a somewhat opposite effect to that of cortisol. Oxytocin lowers heart rate and blood pressure, relaxes the muscles, improves blood circulation, and engages digestion. It also raises the pain thresholds and promotes peace of mind in the body and mind.

In summary, a good relaxation massage relaxes the body and mind. It reduces daily tensions, and the natural healing capacity is supported and stimulated. With regular massages, research shows that these positive effects can last for weeks and have a compounding impact.
